Corporation Farm and the Old Thorn Barn
Corporation Farm, an impressive group of buildings, so called because it was owned by the Great Hospital from the thirteenth century, and after 1835 by the Norwich Corporation who took over the administration of the city charities. The farm was therefore unlikely to have received much personal attention from the owner. On this 200-acre farm there were two substantial seventeenth-century barns as well as stables of a similar date on the end of one of the barns. The Old Thorn Barn has undergone a thorough and comprehensive program of reconstruction and refurbishment, culminating in a delightful and comfortable guest house. This beautiful barn represents rural Norfolk and local hospitality at its very best, Enjoy. The Photo Album
